Music

Hans Zimmer was selected to compose the score for the film, with him composing for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End at the same time. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he liked "using all his creative juices at once."Brooks chose Zimmer, as the pair were good friends and had worked together on Brooks' previous films. Zimmer expressed that the score was a "unique challenge", stating "I had to try and express the style of The Simpsons without wearing the audience out with too much attitude."He used "tiny fragments" of Danny Elfman's original opening theme, to coincide with his original music, and gave each of the main characters their own themes. In addition to their appearance in the film, Green Day recorded their own version of the theme song of The Simpsons, releasing it as a single. The Green Day theme peaked at number 19 in the UK Singles Chart, while Hans Zimmer's "Spider Pig" reached number 24, having risen eighty-two places from the previous week.
